GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. All competitions will be held in two categories,
Juniors – Students up to X [ICSE] [No separate groups for boys and girls]
Seniors – Students of XI & XII [ISC] [No separate groups for boys and girls]
2. Only the First position winners of each category will represent Tamil Nadu region in the national competition.
3. All the participants must register themselves prior to the event.
4. Identification cards are to be worn throughout the event.
5. Participants will not be allowed to go out of the school premises on their own for visiting, shopping, etc.
6. Participants must be present for the meals on time.
7. Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants.
8. Winners of the First, Second and Third positions will be awarded Merit Certificates and Medals.3
9. A panel of judges will compile all the results. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
10. Participants and escorts will be charged Rupees 300 (cash) per head towards lunch and refreshment per day. Each school will pay Rupees 500 cash) as registration fee for each event, irrespective of the number of participants.
For example, if a school wishes to participate in all the 5 events, it has to pay ₹ 500 for each event, that would be 500 x 5 = 2,500 Rupees
Plus ₹ 300 per head for each participant [per head for escort as well as students]
11. Please send the scanned copy of the filled in registration forms on or before Aug 8, Monday, 2016 by e-mail to the following id: primrosechennai@gmail.com. Entries after this date will not be considered.
(Forms with incomplete entries like Class missing, Photo missing will be rejected.)
12. Prize distribution will happen each day between 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
13. Participants are requested to make their own transport and lodging arrangements.

DECLAMATION COMPETITION 2016-17
PRIMROSE SCHOOLS (TN 079) Chennai

Instructions:
1. Each school can present one participant each in each category.
2. Time allotted is four minutes. Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time.
3. Choice of passage is left to the participants, but no passage from fictions or dramas is permitted.
4. Participants should avoid reading from a previously prepared script, any paper or aid.
5. Marks awarded by individual judges will be added up for each speaker.
6. The speaker will be adjudged on the basis of diction, pronunciation, gestures, emotions, intonation and overall presentation.
7. Participants should be in formal wear without any identification marks.

CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION 2016-17
PRIMROSE SCHOOLS (TN 079) Chennai

Instructions:
1. Each School can present one participant each in each category.
2. Only the writing paper will be provided by the host.
3. Essays/ short stories / poems, etc., should be written neatly on one side of the paper, leaving sufficient margin.
4. The creative writing should not exceed more than 500 words.
5. The participants will be given a choice of topics on the spot.
6. The initial half hour will be for preparation; participants are not to write during this planning session.
7. The participants will be given an hour and a half to write down the essay/ story/ poem after the planning session.
8. The work will be adjudged on the basis of the content, language, style and creativity.
9. Marks awarded by individual judges will be added up for each participant.

PAINTING COMPETITION 2016-17
PRIMROSE SCHOOLS (TN 079) Chennai

Instructions:
1. Each School can present one participant each in each category.
2. Topic will be given on the spot.
3. Ivory sheets of 28” x 22” size will be provided by the host.
4. Acrylic or poster colours to be used.
5. The time allotted will be one day: i.e., 9.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m.
6. The Participant is expected to present a creative and attractive composition to bring out the theme of the topic.
7. The participant is required to bring one’s own colours, tools and other accessories.
8. Marks will be awarded for composition, creativity, colour scheme, and interpretation of the theme.
9. Paintings will be exhibited during the Annual Conference of the Heads of Schools of the ASISC and thereafter put on sale.

DEBATE COMPETITION 2016-17
PRIMROSE SCHOOLS (TN 079) Chennai
Saturday, 27 Aug, 2016
Instructions:
1. Participants should avoid reading from a previously prepared script, any paper or aid.
2. The format of the debate will be of “Frank Anthony Memorial Debate” of the Council.
3. Each School can present only two participants each in each category, one to speak “for the motion” and the other “against the motion”.
4. The order of speech will be decided on the spot by draw of lots. However, the speakers who initiate both the motions will get two extra minutes each to wind up the debate after all the speakers have finished their turn.
5. Each speaker will get five minutes to speak. At the end of the fourth minute, a warning bell will be rung. The final bell will be sounded at the end of the fifth minute. The speaker exceeding the time limit, will be penalized.
6. All participants must be in formal wear without any identification marks.
7. The speakers will address the Chairs only. Un-parliamentary language, personal comments or observations on any religion, caste, community, political party or individual are not allowed; the matter should be limited to the topic only.
8. Marks awarded by individual judges will be added up for each speaker; and then for each team.
9. A lively rebuttal / refutation for approximately two minutes will follow each speech with interjections from the participants.
10. Speakers will be adjudged for subject matter, diction, delivery, pronunciation, language, presentation and rebuttal.

1. A team of two participants each in each category, from each School can participate.
2. The time allotted is one day.
3. There will not be any written elimination.
4. All the teams will have oral contest, which may include elimination. Oral contest depends upon the number of teams.
5. The Quiz will comprise of various rounds on various topics.
